100 posts, and a year-ish
I've been writing here for about a year and this is my 100th post. It's been quite a year for all of us, that much is certain.
- I went to Ireland
- I have been at my current employer for longer than I've been at any startup (though a fraction of the time I spent at a corporate job)
- I traveled to Boston at least 6 times to visit family and work
- I hosted family in Ann Arbor twice
- I wrote and thought a great deal about politics, much more than I'd have liked
- I cooked some food, though less than I'd have liked
- I walked a lot, though less than I'd have liked
- I took some photos, though fewer than I'd have liked
- I remodeled my bathroom
- I read quite a few books, including the 7 Dungeon Crawler Carl books released so far (and I'm quite happy with my reading)
- I played a lot of D&D!
- I cuddled a lot of cats
The year isn't over yet, and I may have some writing I'll finish up and post before 2026 begins. The last year has certainly taught me that things can change a great deal from day to day so a week and a half can contain multitudes.
I originally thought I'd link to posts here, but the purpose of this little recap isn't to boost my own links. Instead, I'm just trying to reflect for a few minutes and feel gratitude for all the people and animals that have made the last year a good one. There have been some significant downs in the last year, for all of us, but many ups too. I hope that 2026 contains more joy, fellowship, and solidarity for all of us.
